The crime of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury is a second-degree felony, punishable by up to 15 years of prison, 15 years of probation, and fines up to $10,000.

Serious bodily injury is an injury to a person, including the driver, which consists of a physical condition that creates a major risk of death, serious disfigurement, or extended loss or impairment of the function of a body part or organ.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death 

When the crash results in the death of another person, the offense is a first-degree felony, with penalties of up to 30 years in prison, 30 years of probation, and up to $10,000 in fines. In any incident involving death where the defendant, there is a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 4 years
