The State completely dismissed Jeffrey M.’s DUI (driving under the influence) charges one month after his arrest.
Jeffrey was in the process of getting his MBA, and did not want this to affect his education or future career. Jeffrey also has a professional videography company and did not want to lose business.
Jeffrey was leaving Las Olas when he was pulled over by Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s DUI task force. The police officer reported that Jeffrey had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and that Jeffrey had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. The officer asked Jeffrey to complete Field Sobriety Exercises, but he refused. Jeffrey was then arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.
Jeffrey knew the law. He knew that he was allowed to drink and drive, as long as he drank under the legal limit. Jeffrey swore he only had one drink, and reported that he didn’t appear drunk on video. Rossen Law Firm was able to obtain the police video quickly and prove that Jeffrey was not slurring his words or walking unsteadily. Since the cops were wrong, this allowed us to put pressure on the prosecutors to get the Fort Lauderdale DUI case completely dismissed.
