Within the city limits of Wilton Manors, the Wilton Manors Police Department has jurisdiction. 


The Police Department consists of an Assistant Chief, six Sergeants, six Detectives, nineteen sworn Officers, and seventeen civilian employees. Most officers utilize a body-worn camera, and all DUI units have in-car cameras. Wilton Manors handles DUI cases themselves, but uses the Broward Sheriff’s Office Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Facility. The top DUI officer in Wilton Manors is Kevin Loughran.


The department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau consists of four Detectives. Detectives are responsible for investigating crimes including misdemeanors and felonies. Detectives assist Road Patrol Officers with ongoing investigations which may include deaths, sex crimes, missing persons, child abuse, robbery, burglaries, narcotics violations, auto thefts and fraud.


The Operations Bureau has four Road Patrol Sergeants who each supervise a squad totaling eighteen officers. The purpose of the Operations Bureau is to provide quality law enforcement services and maintain a strong partnership with the community, while providing for a safe and secure environment. Police Officers respond to calls for service, work traffic enforcement, initiate arrests, and perform neighborhood patrols. Outside the city limits of Wilton Manors, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office handles incidents and offers support to the area.


Sheriff Gregory Tony oversees BSO. The Sheriff’s Office has 16 districts. BSO’s services include a Child Protective Investigations Section, a Civil Division and a Department of Law Enforcement. In addition to road patrol and other operations, special BSO units include a Bomb Squad, a K-9 (canine) unit, School resource deputy unit and more. The Broward Sheriff’s office contains a DUI Unit that specializes in the control and prevention of driving under the influence of Alcohol and Drugs. This specialized unit possesses three separate divisions that include the DUI Task Force, DUI/Breath Alcohol Testing (also known as BAT), and BAT Video.
