Within the city limits of Boca Raton, the Boca Police Department has jurisdiction. Outside the city limits of Boca, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office handles complaints, arrests, pressing charges, and more.

The department has special services including: multiple community service officers, a 3-canine K-9 unit, a marine unit, motorcycle unit, traffic enforcement units including DUI patrol, and a traffic homicide unit. Outside the Boca Raton city limits, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office handles all incidents.

Boca Raton Court System 

There is no actual court house in Boca Raton, but any cases will be handled by courts within the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, which encompasses all of Palm Beach County. Any cases that are appealed are handled in the 4th District Courts of Appeal in West Palm Beach.  


The Main Courthouse for Palm Beach County is located at 205 N Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. There are 5 courthouses in the 15th circuit. 


The Palm Beach Court System has a total of  54  judges and 9 magistrates. The Chief Judge is Krista Marx.
